tense and inward glowing

The way she holds herself is
tense and inward glowing,
pink cheeks from the cool rain,
frayed hair that touches the slight
short smile of her lips,
wrinkled jeans and dark attire.
I always catch her when her
eyes dart away.
She drones lovingly over careful words,
attempting carefree ease, careless smile,
and always succeeding.
